Licensed Clinician

Summary:

Behavioral Health Clinicians are responsible for providing a range of clinically appropriate services to foster children and adolescents including individual, family and group therapy.

Qualifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice in California as an LMFT, LCSW or LPCC.
  • Valid California driver’s license.
  • Good driving record; Department of Motor Vehicles printout required.
  • Meet all state licensing and insurance requirements.
  • Successful completion of LIC 503 Health Screening Report, including a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

Abilities:

  • Ability to provide clinically sound treatment services based on client needs and treatment plans.
  • Demonstrate understanding of diagnostic evaluation methods, assessments and scales.
  • Familiarity with DSM and ICD Codes and Medi-Cal documentation and procedures.
  • Ability to respond to a range of client needs using differential diagnoses and treatment approaches, primarily related to evidence-based practices.
  • Ability to lead children and adolescent therapeutic groups: Anger Management, Drug and Alcohol, Social Skills, LGBTQ and/or Sexual Abuse.
  • Skills in crisis intervention, suicide assessment, conflict resolution and interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to maintain clinical records in timely compliance with agency and Medi-Cal policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other community agencies on behalf of clients and/or the agency.
  • Demonstrate understanding of sound ethical practice in conjunction with the established and defined ethics of one’s training and discipline.
  • Knowledge of BBS regulations, requirements and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively organize time and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Duties:

  • Provide a variety of treatment services including individual, group and family therapy.
  • Provide clinical assessment, client care planning and effective treatment implementation to children, adults and families.
  • Demonstrate multicultural skills knowledge and experience, including the influence of cultural issues and providing services with appropriate cultural contest.
  • Advise clients of available community resources and act as a liaison and/or advocate for clients/families to use the resources effectively.
  • Participate in liaison work with other agencies as required.
  • Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled clinical supervision when appropriate.
  • Maintain clinical records in accordance with professional and ethical standards, insurance regulations and established counseling center policies and procedures.
  • Comply with clinical productivity standards as established by Behavioral Health Lead Clinician.
  • Participate in staff meetings as requested and established.
  • Provide trainings, lectures or participate in discussion on aspects of client care and the use of psychotherapeutic methods to STRTP staff and Resource Families.
  • Be available for after-hours telephone contact for clients in crisis.
  • Work evenings and occasional Saturdays.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
