The mission of our nonpublic schools is to prepare each student to be a functioning, contributing member of society by providing programs that foster academic, social, physical and psychological achievement.
Reyn Franca School and Creative Alternatives School (Fresno County) are nonpublic schools who accept referrals from local school districts to serve students who may need additional support in order to be successful in the school setting. Each program provides high levels of staff support, structure, consistency, and positive behavioral supports in a uniquely therapeutic environment to help students maximize their individual potentials.
Our staff and teaching teams are experienced in serving Special Education students with the following eligibilities: Emotionally Disturbed (ED), Intellectual Disability (ID), Autism Spectrum Disorder (AUT), Specific Learning Disorder (SLD), and Other Health Impairment (OHI).

Reyn Franca School is licensed to host up to 48 Special Education students in grades K-12 who, due to various maladaptive behaviors, cannot attend public school settings. Reyn Franca Schools have been serving Special Education students since 1986. It’s veteran support teams help students develop the behavioral and social skills necessary for safe re-entry into a public school setting.
Each highly structured classroom accommodates up to 12 students instructed by a credentialed Special Education teacher and a 1:4 ratio of Instructional Aide support. Lessons are derived from California State Standards and then individually modified to meet students where they are academically. Reyn Franca students have access to transportation, individual and group counseling, as well as speech and language therapy, music, art and intramural sports activities.

Since 2014, Creative Alternatives School has served Special Education students in grades K-12 who present behavioral challenges that have not allowed them to be successful in the public school setting. CAS is currently licensed to serve up to 60 Special Education students. The program offers small (max. of 12 students/class) self-contained, highly structured classrooms with an exceptionally high level of staff support (min. 1:4 ratio). Each CAS class is instructed by a credentialed Special Education teacher utilizing state-adopted curriculum to promote the academic progress.
Creative Alternatives School’s highly skilled team offers students the behavioral support needed to foster growth in all areas so they may qualify for safe re-entry into the public school setting. The program provides students with access to an individualized education, Counseling and Guidance services, transportation, field trip opportunities, art, and intramural sports activities..
